Logo

Red River Valley IT

Using Wix forms, I created a simple contact form that was easy to use, as opposed to the previous "get a quote" buttons, which would redirect the user to an outdated email application.

As requested, I delivered this website within 2 weeks, and the CEO was impressed with this work.

Red River Valley IT hired me to design their logo.

Ted, owner of Red River Valley IT, an electronics repair shop in Texas, needed help developing his brand. I got him started by designing this logo and deciding on the brand’s color scheme.

The challenge

Ted was unsure of what direction to go with the logo, but he knew he wanted it to look “techy” and reflect the shop’s location somehow

The first step was to collect reference images. I immediately thought of including some sort of computer chip-like shapes, and I of course needed a reference of the shape of Texas. Additionally, I looked at some examples of techy/electronics logos for inspiration.

References

I brainstormed and came up with several ideas and sketches. After presenting some options, Ted and I both decided on a microchip-like design in the shape of Texas, with the processor core line (in red) showcasing the Red River Valley.

One challenge with this design was representing a microchip without logging the logo down with unnecessary details. I decided to simplify and thicken the lines to give the desired effect while still giving the idea of “tech.”

After a few iterations and cleanup, I delivered the logo to Ted within a week, and he was overjoyed with the result.
